The GUIDE (Guiding an Improved Dementia Experience) model is a groundbreaking Medicare program launched in July 2024. This 8-year initiative is designed to provide comprehensive, coordinated care for people living with dementia and support for their caregivers.

Most importantly for exhausted family caregivers, GUIDE covers professional in-home respite care services at absolutely no cost.

Eligibility Requirements

You Loved One May Be Eligible If:

They have dementia (diagnosis can be provided)

They have Traditional Medicare Parts A & B

They live at home or in an assisted living facility

Not Currently Eligible:

Those enrolled in Medicare Advantage

Those in hospice care (palliative care is OK)

Those in long-term skilled nursing (short-term rehab stays are OK)
