What changed
In the first 28 days, the office's interview no-show rate fell from 64% (monthly average, June to August 2026) to 40%. 37 candidates showed up for video interviews in the 28 days, compared with 17 in a typical month before the pilot.
The office runs its hiring with one recruiter, so time matters. Care Hero screened out 53 applicants on the office's own dealbreakers before they reached the recruiter.
“...it's been a very powerful tool as far as minimizing all the tedious work...”
How AI phone screening fits in
Care Hero phone-screens every applicant day and night and books qualified candidates into interviews. Before the pilot, first-round phone screens were done by hand and were not tracked.
During the pilot 44% of AI phone interviews happened outside business hours, when the recruiter was off. The median time from application to a completed phone screen was about 15 hours, a figure the office's recruiter confirmed as accurate.
Mariam Dawood said Care Hero has helped the recruiter streamline a lot of the back and forth, and that having everything on one platform means the office no longer needs Calendly.
